Cosplay that becomes a digital collection.
CosplaySnap is a consumer Web3 project that turns the cosplay experience into a digital collection: visitors have their photo taken, an AI system generates a dedicated background, and the shot becomes an NFT card to collect and trade. The test bed was as demanding as it gets: Lucca Comics & Games, one of Europe’s largest pop culture events, in partnership with Lucca Crea. An audience of tens of thousands of people, most of them unfamiliar with Web3, to be won over to NFTs in a few minutes, live and under pressure — while creating a genuine gamification experience.
Web3 technology shuts out the mass market.
The problem
Brands want to enter the NFT world, but traditional Web3 technology shuts out the mass market. Wallets to install, seed phrases to safeguard, gas fees to pay in cryptocurrency: every step slams the door on the end user.
The stakes
This isn’t a theoretical problem. Many large companies launched NFT projects and watched them fizzle out — not because of the idea, but because of the friction: the average user gave up at the first wallet. A poorly built Web3 experience isn’t just a weak product: it’s budget burned and credibility lost in front of your own community.
The solution needed
What was needed was a partner able to make the blockchain invisible: all the power of NFTs, none of the barriers. And it had to be proven in the least forgiving setting there is — live, at a fair, with a queue at the stand.
Blockchain, without barriers.
Account Abstraction: NFTs without a wallet.
The technical heart of the project. Smartitude linked every Web2 account to a smart account through Account Abstraction, letting users mint NFTs with a simple social login, without owning any Web3 wallet. Thanks to Paymaster smart contracts, transactions are gasless: users pay no crypto fees and often don’t even notice they are on a blockchain. The cards follow the ERC-1155 NFT standard. The barrier to entry into Web3 wasn’t lowered: it was removed.
An AI pipeline for the digital card.
Every shot goes through an AI generation pipeline that creates a dedicated background in seconds, blends the layers and produces an output ready for minting, with no manual work from the team at the fair.
A meta-game that keeps users coming back.
Collecting, trading and rarity create an engagement loop that brings users back to the app even after the event, turning a single photo into a reason to stay.
A monetisation lever, not just an engagement one.
Premium cards, limited drops and partnerships with third-party brands turn the platform into a recurring revenue channel, beyond community activation alone.
